Has anyone gotten married in Las Vegas?

Teapot Bride, on September 7, 2011 at 12:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

FH and I are totally rethinking the wedding and we're now thinking Vegas. I ran the idea by my bridal party and they loved it, so I need some more info.

If you got married in Vegas, went to a wedding in Vegas, know someone who got married in Vegas, or have an interesting anecdote about Vegas weddings, please share!

Have never been to a vegas wedding, but I would suggest looking online at teh venues/hotels and see what packages they have to offer and if you can find any reviews. Happy Planning!

I'm currently planning a wedding in Vegas (and live in Austin and have never been to LV). It's more difficult than I thought, but we're planning for 75 people, many of whom have not been to Vegas either, so we're trying to stick to the strip. There are a few ladies on here from Vegas that are very helpful too! How big are you thinking?

My sister got married in Vegas. Nothing really special to report, it was a little chapel, with a minister.

That night though they did win like $2000 on the slot machines, so that was really cool. I remember I was at a black jack table with my dad when my sister went running by screaming, lol.

My sister was married in Vegas. I believe it was an all-inclusive package at the Flamingo. She actually had a great turnout and about 50 guests, excluding the bridal party showed up in Vegas. After the ceremony we all went and had dinner at Battista's. It was great! They also had a reception back here at home :-D I think it's a great idea! I would love to do it, but I would feel bad that not everyone would be able to make it :-/

I say go for it girl!

I went to wedding in Vegas, they are great b/c they appeal to any budget. It was a small wedding, bride, groom, and 7 guests. They were married by Elvis =). We went out afterwards to resteraunt and then out to a casino. If you've never been, I'd stick to the hotels in the center of the strip so you can walk in either direction. There are tons of options and packages available for larger weddings and small weddings alike.

Hey Jamie -- How was Battista's? We're thinking about that for our Rehearsal Dinner since we're trying to keep that pretty low key (~15 people).

We're doing our ceremony at the Flamingo too. They have a package that includes 3 hours of limo and photography on the strip, which is my main concern!

I thought it was fabulous! THE BEST cappuccino everrrrrrrr(which came with our dinner). They have free house wine, red or white (not the greatest but hey, it's free booze), I can't remember what I had but I remember it was good and I've been craaaaaaaving Battista's lately. Oh and they have a creepy old guy who comes around and plays the accordion. :-D We will definitely make our way back there when we go to Vegas for our Honeymoon.

I thought the Flamingo was awesome. They're extremely affordable, right on the strip, and overall just a beautiful hotel.

I'm not planning anything too big. Maybe 40 guests, about 50 total with wedding party. I just want something nice and affordable and memorable. Have started looking at packages at casinos. So many options! Thanks to everyone for their input!

A friend of mine got married at The Grove...it was BEAUTIFUL...they spent about 5,000 on an ALL inclusive package...pictures, flowers...everything. The wedding was awesome. Here's some pictures of where their wedding was...AND a link to their website...We were honestly thinking of doing our wedding here before I fell in love with having our wedding by the London Bridge in Lake Havasu.

We are planning our Vegas wedding also. It will be very small ... maybe 12 folks or so going .. if that many. We choose one of the small chapels there and are staying at the Golden Nugget. We are getting married at 5:30 and then I want to go and take pictures at all the "Vegas" places and then to dinner and then just out for the night for fun!!! I am staying in my dress the entire night!!!! This is both of ours 2nd go at this so we are going to have fun and enjoy it!! We are doing an at home reception after the first of the year.

@Tori E ~ We are doing the Mon Bel Ami ... it came down to two and we just picked one. We figured in the end they are all pretty much the same and the after pics are the ones that we are looking forward too!!! I wouldn't say my dress is big, I guess it is more of an A-Line with a one shoulder. The sign is the first stop on our list!!! Where did you guys have dinner at? Did ya'll make reservations or just go with it? That's the decisions that we are left with ..... where to eat and where to party!!!!
