Has anyone ever rented a dress?

Has anyone ever rented their gown, if so, is it worth it? How is the process? Where can I rent a dress from?

My friend did! It was $150 to rent and I think it is worth it in a sense because it was a designer gown that would have cost her thousands if she bought it. I bought my own gown but mine was cheap but now it's like storing it is a hassle since it's large.

Could you give me a name of a place? Did she have to do alterations?

My bridesmaid rented her bridesmaid dress off: rent the runway

They also have a wedding shop so I see they have wedding gowns. The issue though is I don't think they could be altered

I own a costume rental shop and we rent wedding dresses often. We just have a small selection, but for ladies with no need to save it or pass it on, this is an easy answer to save money and headache.

I just want to know if you rent the dress and alterations need to be made. How does that work?

I am willing to alter some (taking in the sides, hemming, if possible), but if it is major alterations, I cannot do. Usually the beaded ones are rented as is because it would tear up my machines and destroy the dress to alter it.
