Has anyone ever heard of Cavi-Lipo?

Jacqui76, on May 8, 2015 at 3:35 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 6

I just saw a Groupon to have this Cavi-Lipo procedure done at a Physical Therapy office in PA. It's an ultrasound laser that melts fat cells, not for major weight loss but for minor stuff like cellulite. I never heard of this before. Have you?

You can't melt fat cells. You have a set number of fat cells in your body. They cannot be destroyed. They shrink or grow.

    1 - I wouldn't get a cosmetic procedure from a physical therapist.

2 - Groupon and plastic surgery should never go together.

3 - There is nothing in the laws of physics that would allow a laser to destroy your fat cells without first destroying your skin.

The procedure says it liquefies them, so the body can naturally discharge them, and you can then maintain it through hydration, nutrition, and exercise. It sounds a little fishy to me which is why I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of it.

When something sounds too good to be true, it normally is! There's no science behind this procedure.

4 - If this worked, they'd be doing it on every corner and THERE WOULDN'T BE FAT PEOPLE ANY MORE.

I mean, YES, a laser could melt your fat cells. BUT NOT WITHOUT BURNING OFF YOUR SKIN.

ETA: If we could destroy internal bodies (like cells) without damaging the skin, it would be a f-ing panacea and there would be partying in the streets. Trust me, we don't have that technology.
