Has anyone been to a Macy's Sip & Scan event?

Nilou, on March 6, 2015 at 5:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

I was just wondering if anyone has been to a Macy's Sip & Scan event to get their registry started? I just RSVP'd for one in a few weeks. If you've been did you find it helpful? Or do you have any tips to make the most of the event? Thanks!

I just went to one last week! I wasn't sure how it would be but it was actually pretty cool! They had like a DJ playing music even lol! Anyway, they basically gave us a scanner and a checklist and let us loose. It was really nice because we could really debate what we wanted without someone hovering over us the whole time. And then they just came around with drinks and appetizers like sliders and quesedillas, it was fun. The only hard thing was holding the checklist and the little plates and drink cups all at once haha! But it was also really nice because they had people in each department to answer questions so we asked about the henckle knives because there was a representative from the company there. We had previously just registered for a set without knowing much so it was nice to ask some questions. There was even a guy that recommended a nice iron and told us to stay away from a certain vacuum brand. We both had a fun time. Then they gave us all these coupons afterwards for like 20% off shoes or formalwear, and a $10 Starbucks gift card! We took a couple hours, it was pretty fun! The food wasn't enough to make a full meal though so make sure you have something else planned for dinner.

Yes , I went. There was one other couple that night ...they really only had bottled drinks (soda and water ) and cookies ..the associates were sort of helpful , but no demos on products ....

We went to one at crate and barrel and they were extremely helpful plus they have is free wine glasses !! Smiley smile(& had way more goodies /coffee to snack on ...)

Happy , man I wish I was at your sip and scan ! Sounds so much better than what they do in GA!!! Lol

My husband and I went and I agree with @Happy In Hawaii. The only downside was balancing a plate and scanning at the same time. I didn't get as good of a goody bag as she got but it was fun and when there is an event on the calendar I'm more likely to get my husband onboard to do that sort of thing with me rather than just saying, "hey honey, lets go shopping".

    Have a good time!

We went to one when we started our registry... it's really nothing to write home about. They gave us cookies and water, and we entered into a drawing to win a prize.... I don't think anyone won that night (it was for every single Macys).
