My sister had a Harry Potter birthday a few years back she did the candles floating from the ceiling with fishing line it looked amazing and the candles would be very romantic for a wedding as well!

My sister in law had origami flowers as her centerpieces made from Harry Potter book pages. You could do wands as favors (real easy to DIY with chopsticks, hot glue, and paint), maybe instead of rounds have four long tables and separate guests into houses (each table be colored/decorated like that house), and candles everywhere! Just some ideas for you. Have fun!

My bff would go nuts over that. Serve butterbeer (alcoholic and nonalcoholic versions). Use the different house colors as your main decor (alternating table cloths with related centerpieces for each). Paper mache candles or pumpkins on fishing line hanging from the ceiling. Use the soundtrack instrumentals before/after your ceremony and during cocktail hour. Maybe use a passage from one of the books that you love during the ceremony as a reading. Depending on the venue, you could have your officiant in costume as Dumbledore or the female headmistress whose name escapes me.

I saw on one officiant website listing alternative unity ceremony ideas and it suggested for a fantasy theme to do unity potions (two different vials of colored water and a bigger one containing dry ice so that it smokes when the liquid pours over it. That would definitely be memorable.

Name your tables after places/people, etc in the books.

Browse Pinterest and Etsy to see what catches your eye.

You could use the colors from each house as wedding colors or inspo for decor! Like each table could be a different house or something

If you have live musicians for ceremony and cocktail hour (such as a string quartet), it could be fun if they did music from the movies

Yes! The great hall scene is my favorite and the candles from the ceiling is spectacular! A pretty framed piece of art from the movie for guests to sign the border would be great. The secret folding map as invites. Maybe the golden snitch as a cake topper.

I love this theme idea. So much.

Our wedding is need themed. We are mashing together Harry Potter, lotr, star wars, dungeons and dragons, princess bride and much more. For the Harry Potter aspect, I made wands for all my bridesmaids along with boxes for them to go in all completely custom and I will have a wand as well.
The groomsmen will have swords that my fiance is making! Below are the wands I made, before I primed and stained them.Harry Potter 1
