Harry Potter and Star Wars

Alexus, on June 9, 2020 at 12:49 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 24
Does anyone know where to find Harry Potter and Star Wars themed stuff for wedding? I've tried Etsy, Walmart, Amazon, and Target, no luck yet...

So it’s not for weddings particularly but you can try oriental trading company cause they have party supplies and have those themed decor and supplies for Harry Potter and Star Wars. Right now they have free shipping too!

The thing with Etsy is that a lot of those decorations won't necessarily be listed under "wedding". As Melle said, you'll be looking for party supplies or just house decor, which you'll repurpose for centerpieces and such.

How are you blending the two, and what, specifically are you looking for?

I'm not exactly sure on the blending I know the cake will be one layer Harry Potter and the other layer Star Wars and mainly just the normal decor for wedding ceremony and table pieces for reception

Aaand the app ate my reply.

What do you mean by "normal"?

I've seen table numbers that were Godzilla photoshopped into Jane Austen covers, that were baseball player numbers, that were childhood photos of the bride and groom.

Centerpieces can be lanterns, or flowers, or candle arrangements.

I think what you need to do is decide what you want on the tables. If you want a mash up of nerd things, do you want little BB8s and snitches? Do you want wands and lightsabers?

That should help you figure out what you're looking for.

Yeah, that's the dark side of the personalized weddings.

We ordered fake flowers for our centerpieces, got them in, and then went... "oh, #@!%%#, now what?"

Thankfully, DH had a brain wave, and we came up with foam "baseballs" as a flower holder, but we... hadn't thought that through.

Right... I only have my Fiance and his family since my side won't have anything to do with me.

You're not going to find anything that is specifically wedding related for those things. Just use whatever you like regardless.

I would find a balance between using the colors and using actual party supplies. These kinds of things won't be tagged as wedding supplies, so you'll need to look in the birthday sections of stores. I'd suggest Party City.

One of my Con-friends has both in her wedding but I think most of her stuff was DIY. Her bridesmaids had bouquets of flowers made of book pages and accented in HP house colors. I’ll go check her pictures and see what she used.

I know one of her bridesmaids does a lot of stuff with her cricut, so not sure how much was scoured on Etsy and how much they did themselves.

Harry Potter and Star Wars 2
Harry Potter and Star Wars 3
Harry Potter and Star Wars 4

In Etsy I just found a lot of Harry Potter wedding related things. I searched “Harry Potter wedding”. I’m sure I can find the same for Star Wars. But you’re probably not going to find someone selling a mashup. You could reach out on Etsy about custom items or just decide which areas you want to reflect HP and where you want to reflect SW.

We had a HP themed wedding and I found a lot of stuff on Etsy and Amazon that was specific to weddings. I searched "Happy Potter wedding" and "Happy Potter decorations" but, sometimes you have to mess with your search phrase to get different results. I know I saw stuff that was combo Star Wars and HP, including cake toppers. Just about every vendor I worked with on Etsy was willing to do custom tweaks. We bought battery candle tapers and strung them from the ceiling to mimic the Great Hall for our reception and hung house banners that I got from Amazon. I have so much stuff lol, what are you looking for?

I am AWESOME at coming up with ideas. I'm a Potterhead and my fiance is TOTALLY into Star Wars. If you would like to talk, please let me know and I can help you figure out how to do both of these for your wedding. We have a year! Smiley smile

Our wedding is full on need theme. Im making my bridesmaids custom wands, my fiance is making his groomsmen custom swords. We are having a gaming room (my fiance hates dancing). Our cake topper is from the princess bride, and our decorations in our tables are Dungeons and Dragons themed. Oh and our officiant is our dungeon master for D&D.
As far as putting it all together, you just need to know what you want for decorations and then get creative with finding things. You probably won't find full sets for centerpieces and will have to put things together. My friend had a star wars wedding and put Legos in flower pots as centerpieces and included a star wars Lego set at each table. It was super fun to dink around with while waiting for dinner. I still have my creation on my bookshelf!
