Harpist for ceremony

csquid, on October 29, 2013 at 10:13 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

Anyone else having a harpist for their ceremony? We are going to have to choose the music for all the different parts of the ceremony sooner or later so I wanted to see if there were any recommendations. She has a website so you can hear samples of her music but I think I might need some guidance.

We are having a harpist. She also has samples on her website that we used to make our selections. I am so excited for it Smiley smile

    Here are our selections:

Bridal Party Processional: Campbell's Farewell to Redcastle

    Bridal Procession: Canon in D

    Unity Candle Ceremony: Elenor Plunkett

    Recessional: Hornpipe from Water Music

Our harpist will just play whatever she wants for the prelude and postlude.

I had an amazing harpist. He lives in Manhattan and is a friend and offered his services as a wedding gift.

We're going to have a harpist at both our ceremony and cocktail music. He's a highschooler in NJ and amazing. We're going to end our ceremony with Kiss the Girl from The Little Mermaid (We're both huge Disney fans) and at our cocktail hour he'll play Rat Pack music.

I am having a harpist for the reception only. She sent me videos of her performances as well as some of her music. I found her on gig salad. How much did you ladies pay for your harpist? If you don't mind me asking...

I'm having a harpist as well and while i wanted to pick an original song for the bride processional, i went with Canon in D because it brings so much emotion every time i listen to it! I have the songs on a sheet of paper i'll add them when i get home as i don't know them off by heart. They aren't set in stone.

Kristen- I wanted to do A Whole New World at some point because we always sing it together on my Disney karaoke haha..still debating but love your idea of kiss the girl, I am a huge Disney fan as well.

@Dyanne, not at all! Mine is $300 for 30 minute prelude as guests arrive and the ceremony. If we add the receiving line it's an additional $25-$50 depending on how long that takes but we're not planning on having one. I found around 3 harpists in the area and they were all about the same $.

@Kristen, what a cute idea! I love the Little Mermaid Smiley smile
