Hardest Decision

Blair, on July 17, 2020 at 9:42 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

So I finally made the decision to postpone my October 10th wedding to June 5th. We are still eloping in October. For those of you who are eloping now and big wedding later are you still going to have a ceremony or just a reception?

I'm doing both girl and my husband and I got married 4 and a half years ago. I want the entire experience. We're treating this next year as if were engaged all over again.

I just did the same, we postponed our October to May of next year. We are thinking just getting married first. What exactly do people do with elopement? Thanks!

Just an intimate ceremony with no guest usually but we are inviting 8 of our closest family members

We are doing small ceremony now to get married with about 30 people. Next year we are still having the ceremony again and a reception. We want to have our wedding party there with us and have all our friends and family see our vows that’s why we invited them in the first place. Our vows will be more of a renewal as our wedding next year with then be our 1 year anniversary.

I see. So are these people meeting at the court house or do we serve dinner to them as well?

We're meeting at a venue that host courthouse style ceremonies. Since it's just 8 people we'll be having serving dinner at his mom's house.

Our August 16th wedding had to be postponed, and we're not allowed to choose a new date until mid-September which is part of the reason why we're still getting married on our original date! We will not have any family or friends there, just us, our officiant and MOH to be a witness & take pictures. We will still be holding the ceremony & reception we originally planned as soon as it's safe to do so!
