Hard to Stand/minor Mobility Issues

Rebecca, on January 6, 2020 at 9:48 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
Hi all, I'm going to be a bridesmaid in October and I'm so excited! However, I have multiple joint and muscle pain that arises when I stand for a long time. It's often caused by, other than just my body being annoying, by stress or anxiety; such as standing up in front of people while trying to keep my back straight.

I have yet to discuss this with my friend/the bride (she knows I have these issues but I'm sure and hope shes thinking about herself and not me), but were looking for suggestions on what I can do. Obviously when we get closer to things these details will be figured out, but I wanted to get a jump on things!

I had a bridesmaid with a torn ACL and I offered her a chair to sit in at the front of the room during our ceremony lol. She ended up being healed enough to be able to stand for the duration of the ceremony, but if she hadn't been, really all I cared about was her comfort (I couldn't care less about how it would've looked).

Hopefully the bride will be that understanding too! Smiley smile I'd just remind her of your situation and ask her if maybe you can have a chair?

That's what I was thinking. Like I dont mind if I'm at the end so if I do need to sit it wont look awkward in photos (not that she would care but I would for her sake). Having it behind me kind of thing

I would let her know right away so she can think about it. I’m sure there are a few ideas she can come up with.

My great grandma is one of my bridesmaid and we are putting a chair so she can sit down!

Definitely let the bride know but I don’t see why it should be an issue Smiley smile

I had the same issues at my sister in law's wedding! The night before I got a deep massage, relaxed my body in the very best way I knew how and made sure I was comfortable the entire morning of the wedding. I sat on comfy pillows for makeup, stayed cool, made sure my back was rested up all morning! I made sure to sit comfortably as long as possible and because my dress was floor length I was able to wear my Crocs(with memory foam) during the ceremony. They also set us up so that I was one of the last to walk down the aisle, and one of the first to leave! A lot of small things added up and I wasn't in too much pain!
