Hanging Paper Lanterns

darcy, on June 5, 2019 at 9:28 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4

Help! My wedding is NEXT Saturday and I still haven't decided what material to use to hang the paper lanterns. We are stringing them between trees and using LED clip on lights to light them up, but I'm not sure what material to use to hang them. My first thought was fishing line, but I've read that the lanterns can weigh down the line and it's difficult to work with. Now I'm thinking, heavy duty twine? I have no clue! If you've ever used paper lanterns as decor before I'd love to hear from you!

I wanted to do the same but on a tree! My fiance suggested hooks or something for mine.

Twine sounds really cute and also sturdier!

As long as you knot it a few times and get a decent weight, I'd expect fishing line to be fine - I use it for hanging home décor and such all the time. If you want more of a rustic look, I'd recommend heading to a craft store or hardware store and looking at their string/rope choices.

Look at heavy duty fishing line. If it's good enough for 100 lb marlins, it's good enough for paper lanterns.
