I didn't know it was proper etiquette to hand address invitations until I saw it on WW. FH are planning on sending out our STDs mid July. We don't have the money for a calligrapher and FH and I both have terrible handwriting. My sister (and MOH) graciously offered to address them for us. She is a teacher and has the summer off and wanted to help with something (but offered, I didn't even ask) Should I let her write them for us or just use the printer and hope no one finds that in poor taste? Thanks!

I don't think anyone notices or cares if the invitations are handwritten or printed. I certainly wouldn't care! That being said, I received a handwritten fill in the blank party invitation as a wedding invitation once. It was at a snake handling church, was self-catered and ran out of food and 2 liter pepsis (it's ga; at least spring for coke!), and the groom changed into denim shorts, a black wifebeater, and cowboy boots for the reception. It was a doozy. Should have guessed it would be an experience based on the invitation.....

I ordered both our STDs and invitations from companies who print the addresses for you. I didn't even consider any websites that didn't offer that. I don't think anyone noticed.
