Handwrite or printed?

Fmv, on September 17, 2019 at 2:45 PM Posted in Planning 1 14
So this probably sounds very trivial but what is everyone doing for addressing invites?
I most likely will be ordering our invites from anns bridal bargain, i noticed they offer a printing service to print guests names and addresses on the envelopes. We have a stamp with our info that we will use for our info. But what is everyone doing? Spend money on the printed service? Or hand write guests addresses?

We printed addresses directly onto the envelopes for our save the dates. Our invitations are from Minted and they offer free address printing so we took advantage of that.

We just printed the addresses on clear labels and put them on the envelopes. The envelope goes right in the trash anyway so I was not wasting time handwriting 150 addresses.

Since my handwriting is not that great I will most definitely be getting them printed. And like pp said, depending on where you get them from it’s free.

We printed names on the save the date envelopes then used the free addressing from basic invite. Less room for error (yet I still got addresses wrong , oops!)

Did you have to have a computer program to print them on clear labels?

I was excited to try some calligraphy, so I got some Tombow brush pens and printed a handful of alphabet sheets, and felt comfortable enough after a few practice sessions to hand address our invites. It took a little extra time, but I actually really enjoyed doing it and I'm happy with how they turned out.

I hand addressed mine. It was actually more of a "oh crap, I forgot about addressing them" decision rather than a cost saving decision. But I don't think I would have gotten them printed even if I had thought about it because invitations are already so expensive. And honestly, no one cares about them but you. No matter how pretty or how simple they are, people will look at them, possibly put them on the fridge so they remember, but in the end they get trashed so I didn't see the point in spending extra money on those. I will say though, I am no calligraphist, but my handwriting is neat - if I didn't have neat handwriting, I would probably just buy labels from walmart and print them on my computer.

We paid a local woman to do calligraphy so she hand wrote all our guest addresses then our address on the RSVP envelope. Our return address was a stamp we got on Etsy.

I believe there was a template through Avery (the label brand) that FH was able to use. It was really simple.

I ordered my save the dates from Basic Invite and my invitations from Minted. Both had free address printing which saved me a ton of time! My wedding was last month so now I'm looking to order thank you cards. My favorite designs are in Zazzle - does anyone know if they offer address printing?

I hand-wrote mine because I like to do that kind of thing.
