Calling al brides who have participated in or seen a handfasting ceremony!

Once the ceremony was completed, did you/the couple display the cord? How?
My officiant has done several handfasting ceremonies, and I know there are several ways to do them, so I plan on figuring out if we’ll actually be tying a knot or if it’s just looped over our hands 😵‍💫
I’d like to display the cord at the reception with a description of what each color represents and I’d like it to just be a cohesive piece that we can take home and hang up, I’m just not 100% sure how we want to do that yet.
Any ideas?

You could either have a display case for it (with the words from the ceremony behind it, and the colors and meanings of each one written on the frame), like this example I found on Pinterest:

Alternatively, you could have a wooden board similar this one (found on Etsy), and have the colors and meanings of each one written on the board:

Thank you! I was thinking shadow box like item, I just couldn’t figure out a good way to get the words displayed too.

I love the idea of writing some on the frame itself
