My FH and I not overly religious people. When we talk about our wedding ceremony we want something that is short and sweet, yet meaningful, without any major religious overtones. I personally have never been a fan of a unity candle or sand ceremony, but we want to do something that symbolizes our unity and the start of our new life together.
I recently came across the Handfasting and have totally fallen in love with this idea. I found a long version of a handfasting script that I thought really encompassed the idea of marriage and its meaning. The only problem with it is I feel it is a little long.
Has any one used a handfasting in their ceremony and used a shorter version of it? I have seen alot of traditional versions have 6 chords, but have read that the ceremony can be done with 4, however, finding a script for 4 seems to be hard to find.
Any help or suggestions are welcome!
