Hanbok Help

Taylor, on June 27, 2018 at 12:13 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
Hi, my name is Taylor. I am happily engaged to the love of my life and could not be more excited for our wedding. My fiancé is from South Korea and I wanted to do something on the more traditional side for his family. It isn't a big deal to him but I think it would make his parents very happy to have something traditional from their culture. I have a wedding dress that I am going to wear but I would like to surprise his mother and father by wearing a hanbok also. The problem is...I have no idea where to find a place that sells this item in the US. If anyone knows I would apreceate the tip. Thanks! :3

    Congratulations Taylor!

Try yelp.com! Where do you live? Here in Southern California, I found a few businesses that rent Hanbok.

Hi Taylor!!! CongratsSmiley heart This is such a cool idea! The online marketplace, Etsy, has tons of Hanboks and some of the sellers are US based. I would also check out Ebay and Amazon for anyone selling them there!

Are you going to incorporate any other traditions into the wedding?

That's a really good idea. I will look, and it's not to much of a drive. I personally live in Georgia.

Thanks and I would like to do the paebaek ceremony or perhaps have wedding ducks. My fiancé doesn't seem to intrested in this stuff but I am very interested. I also wish to pay respect to his mother and father. I also wish to be respectful of his grandmother, aunt, and cousin who are flying from South Korea for the wedding. If you have any other ideas or advice I would love to hear it Smiley smile

Oh, where in Georgia? I did a quick search - there's a shop in Duluth, if that's an easier commute than California Smiley xd

It's super sweet of you to incorporate your husband's culture into your wedding. My husband wanted to wear a Barong Tagalog - it's Filipino formal wear. I can't wait to see pics of your special day. Good luck with your hanbok hunt!

Oh my gosh thank you! That's so sweet of you. I didn't even know what to look up haha. And I've never seen Filipino formal wear but I'm interested to know what it looks like, I'll have to look it up ☺
