Hair/makeup trial for engagement photos?

Hey everyone!
So my wedding will be February 2nd, 2019. We are doing engagement photos October 17, 2018. I know its pretty close together. But the engagememt photos come with the photo package and we wanted to do fall pictures and a winter wedding. So my question is, can I do a hair and makeup trial for the photos? I thought about skipping the trial to save some money but I dont want to stress about how itll look the day of. Can we do the hair and makeup, take some photos to remember what we will do then adjust the hair to fit engagement photos? Or will this be too much for photos? I just dont want the trial to go to waste. I'd like to use it for something. And we aren't doing a bridal shower or bachelorette party.

What are your thoughts on this?

Maybe have your maikeup trial the day of the photos but save the hair for another day.

I thought about this but I want to look more my every day self for pir engagement pictures. Plus I dont wamt to look the exact Same (face wise) for both wedding and e-pics. We just plan to go out on a date night or something after my trial!

Hi Chrissi! Many members of the community test out their hair and makeup trial for their engagement shoot, bridal shower, engagement party, etc! This is a great way to see how you like the look before the big day and still get to benefit from having your hair and makeup professionally done for an important event! I think it's a great idea! What type of hair and makeup did you have in mind for your shoot? Also, have you planned what you're going to wear for the shoot? Can't wait to see photos!

I just did this. We are getting married Oct 20th and took our engagement pics on August 20th. We had the same scenario. They are included in our package. I scheduled my HMU trial for that day. She did my hair like I wanted it for the wedding (which is kind of an updo, but she did not spray it) and then took it down and curled it for the engagement pics. And did my makeup as well. I asked her before if she was ok with doing the 2 hairstyles and she said yes. Granted, I said that I might want to wear my hair down for the wedding (that is what FH likes) and I wanted to see how it would hold up on the beach (it didn't and I will have to go with the updo), so maybe that is why she agreed to it. But doesn't hurt to ask.
Our pics should be edited and back to us today, I can't wait to see them all!
In other words, go for it. It is totally worth it. It gives us some great pics to have up at the wedding as well! Do it!
