Hair/make up

Good Morning Ladies!!

I am looking for opinions on wedding hair and makeup.. Specifically, if you had the same vendor do hair and makeup or 2 separate vendors... Was it stressful on your big day to make both appointments? Was it crazy having 2 separate teams getting everyone dolled up? Did you find it more pricy to have an all in one vendor? My ceremony doesn't start until 5 so I'm not too worried about time.. we also have a small bridal party so not much to be done on my girls.. but I'm curious as to which route I should focus on.. thanks in advance Smiley smile

We did separate vendors - I wanted my normal hairdresser to do my hair, so we went to the salon and while he was working on me, the moms and bridesmaids rotated through other stylists. Then we went to the venue and the make-up artist met us there. I found the process very relaxing, but part of that was because I scheduled hair for pretty early - so I *knew* we would have enough time. Whatever you decide, make sure there's *food* for everyone - we snacked away while make up was going on and then just before I needed to get in my dress (and before the mua left) I brushed my teeth lol.

I plan on doing two separate vendors. I booked my MUA and asked her recommendations on hair stylist. I have one makeup artist, but may need an assistant (which she’ll provide).

I’ve been in two weddings where one bride booked separate vendors and the other had the same vendor do both..It seemed a lot easier having 4 people (2 doing hair and 2 doing makeup). We were on time and everything went smoothly. The bride who had the same vendor doing both (only 2 artists) ended up behind schedule. I’m unsure of the reasoning because most of us did our own makeup. I would say if you did same vendor give yourself more time to get ready or hire more people on their team. Each wedding there was maybe 7 of us.

The lady I hired is doing both my hair & makeup. She’s going to be at my parents house to do mine, my sister (MOH) & my daughter (bridesmaid). She’s a friend of my daughter’s & I’ve already had my trial. She’ll then follow us to the venue where she’ll do my daughter in law’s (my daughter’s wife) hair. In fact, she’s staying for the wedding & reception!

I'm getting my hair done the day before the wedding and I'm planning on going makeup free.

I did separate vendors! I had one lady for hair, and another for makeup. There was 4 us total getting ready, and it was super easy for us! One BM would get her hair done, then rotate to get makeup done, and so on! No issues for us!

I was thinking about the day before for hair because my hair always looks so much better the day after.

Most former brides we know said they prefer separate vendors because everyone has their own specialties and talents.

We had two separate vendors. They both travelled on site to the hotel suite where we got ready. No issues for us!
