hair & makeup prices?

I think $125 is totally reasonable. My bridesmaids are also paying for their hair and makeup.. I think the $50 towards it is a nice gesture.. we bought our bridesmaids jewelry!

My HMUA charged $210 for bridal hair and makeup. No bridesmaids, but it would've been $140 each for hair and makeup for additional people. I think you're getting a good price.

Also, if you are requiring your bridesmaids to have their hair and makeup done professionally for your wedding, you should cover that cost 100% since it is not their choice. If they are doing it out of their own desire, then they can cover the cost themselves and the $50 gift card is a nice gesture.

Hair and Makeup for myself: $275

I got a discount because the MUA is a trusted vendor for my venue. But mine is $125 and bridesmaid is $95. I want to say mine was $200 before the discount but I don't remember for sure.

Mine is $200 and bridesmaids are $130.

Mines $475 total for myself and 2 bridesmaids

That's a really good price, I'm paying 325 for hair/make-up, 140 for MOH hair/make-up, 70 MOB make-up, 50 for flower girl hair.

I was going to look for a post or start one about this.....thanks Cara. I was quoted bridal hair trial is $105, day of wedding $150. Bridal makeup trial is $80 and day of wedding is $100. Are these prices a little steep? My BMs hair will be $85 and makeup $70.

Mine is $300 for day of, and bridesmaids are $150. There is a slight discount for bridesmaids with short hair but I can't remember off the top of my head.

If you are requiring it you have to pay for it.

My trial was $70. My day of will be $100. BM will be $90 and hair only will be $55. Southern California.

Thanks ladies! I'm having a hard time with this, I've only been in one wedding and we all paid for our hair but we were given a gift card for half of it to cut the cost. I thought it was a really nice gesture, and I don't think I ever expected it to be paid for me. I thought of my role as a commitment that I had made to the bride and although it could get costly she did what she could to help us with it. Have peoples experiences been more of having it paid for or more of paying it themselves? I recognize the etiquette behind it but does anyone see the other side? Just curious

Michelle Weaver with MW Makeup Artistry charges $60 for bride and each attendant on the day of the wedding and $60 trial. Flawless Beauty Lounge charges $75 for bride and $65 for attendants on the day of the wedding, $50 bridal trial.

The WW consensus is bridal party does not pay. You pay, if you're requiring it.

I've paid for my own hair and make up in every wedding I've been in. I thought it was just expected.

Nonetheless, due to my WW studies, when chatting about it with my bridal party, they were kinda confuse that I would make this "optional" and insisted that I book for them, and pick a uniform looks for everyone.

I think it's a cultural difference though. I'm in Miami, FL. The culture down here has a heavy Hispanic influence and I think that may be way I see so many "etiquette" things here that don't line up with what I've experienced.

My hair and makeup is $180 day of. Bridesmaids and mom are $150 each. Flower girl hair is $45 each. My mom is actually paying ( I also only have 3 bridesmaids) and asked us to pitch in for the tip.

NYC: $650 for h/mu trials and day of just for me.

A tad less for my MOH.

You get what you pay for, just remember that. I want to feel gorgeous on my wedding day so I definitely splurged on hair and makeup. For me it's 175 and for the bridesmaids it's 130. Btw I am in NJ, not sure about other states and price ranges. ETA: my hair & makeup trial was 120 and I only had to put down a $20 deposit to book the team for my day.
