Hair & Makeup for Engagement Photos?

My hair and makeup for e-pics is being done by my mua for the wedding. She is my normal hair person. We are using my e-pics as the trial run

Some do, most do not, from my experience.

I just did mine and totally had my hair and makeup done! A really good makeup artist knows what photographs well! I like what I do for myself but it doesn't photograph as well! I'm glad I spent the money on it! Also if you use the same ones who will do you makeup for the day of the wedding it's like a trial before a trial!

I did my own for my e-pics, but will have MUA for the wedding.

It largely depends on how good you are with makeup. On a typical day I wear BB cream and mascara. Dressing up, I may wear eyeliner/shadow. So I knew I wouldn't be comfortable going heavier, which is recommended for photography. So since I'm hopeless with makeup I went to Sephora. You pay $50 on products/gift card and get the makeover free.

I didn't trust myself to do my own makeup in a way that would photograph well. I opted for getting it done at my hair salon. I also happened to need a haircut so I scheduled a haircut and blowout for the morning of the epics.

I got my makeup done, but not my hair. I regret not getting my hair done.

I got my hair and makeup done by the HMUA who will be my wedding HMUA. I feel confident doing my own hair and makeup but she does it so much better especially for photos. Plus she chose a red lipstick for me that I love but would probably not have considered, that now I'm actually thinking of wearing it as my wedding day look.

I'll probably get my hair blown out, but I'll most likely do my own makeup for E-pics. I'm having it done for the wedding though.

I did my trial on the day I had our engagement photos done. Otherwise, I would have just done it myself.

I had my makeup professionally done, but did my own hair since I was just doing a blowout I thought it made a huge difference and was really glad I did it! You need heavier makeup than normal to really make your features 'pop', and since you're already investing time and money in engagement pictures - why not go all in?

I had my hair and makeup done and I'm so glad I did. I'm not used to wearing a lot of makeup so it was good to be able to just get used to having makeup on my face before my trial and wedding day.

I got both done. I just knew I would be anxious and stressed about getting my hair and MU just right before pics if I did it myself so I chose to just chill and have the pros do it.

My e-pic shoot is next weekend and I am getting my hair and makeup done

I got my makeup done mainly because I am really bad at applying it. But it's not a requirement to have to get it done professionally.
