Hair & Make Up Trial before Contract

Lauren, on September 11, 2017 at 4:07 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

Hey all!

This seems like a silly question to post - but did you all have your hair & make up trial before you signed your contract? The hair & make up woman I am talking to says she has contracts booked through next October with more people inquiring daily but it seems like she's trying to get me to book ASAP. I was under the impression that a trial would come before signing a contract but I could be wrong!

Thanks Smiley smile Hope you're all having a Happy Monday!

I had trials before I signed a contract - I didn't want to hate the result and be stuck with it. Did she say if you could have a trial before signing?

I emailed her to ask her if I could have one before signing but she said that she may be booked already by the time I have a trial. My thing is that I'm still a good bit away from my wedding so I wasn't planning on even doing a trial or signing a contract until after the holiday's due to the suggested timeline of things. I just wanted this woman because she has done weddings I've been in before and I've loved how she does things. I also needed to make sure she'd travel to my venue (2.5 hours away).

I guess I just answered my question. If I'm already happy with her work then why am I questioning signing the contract LOL.

My trial was before I signed the contract -- my artist's policy is to hold the date for 48 hours after the trial so the client can decide whether to book or not.

I researched and booked my salon (both hair and makeup) with a 50% retainer and signed a contract stating if I was unhappy with any trials I would get my full deposit back, minus the cost of trials.

Mine is doing a trial before contract. This seems to be out of the norm for my area (Minneapolis) though so I was suprised
