Hair extensions

Victoria A, on April 18, 2017 at 9:47 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 23

Hey everyone I was considering hair extensions for my wedding day. I have long, straight, brown hair but I wanted a fuller wavy curly look for my wedding. Does anyone have experience with hair extensions good or bad and pictures I'd love to see your hair styles. I plan on talking about it with my hair stylist about it as well but I don't have any experience so I thought I would start here. Let me know any brands that are worth looking at.

I think it's a great idea. I was planning to do the same thing. Good luck!

I wore clip in extensions to add volume to my hair. Loved them! if you want to curl them, just make sure they are human hair, not synthetic.

I am planning on doing extensions too because my hair is short and very thin/fine. Check with your stylist, she should be able to give you some ideas on extensions. Mine will be ordering extensions the second to last time I will get my hair done before the wedding. She will dye the extensions to match my hair color at that time.

I don't have any pictures to share but I recently purchased Bellami extensions for my September wedding... I was really impressed with the weight and quality of the hair they sent and even though I will need my stylist to low-light and cut them to blend perfectly -- out of the package they don't look bad in my hair!! It's definitely a splurge but I can't wait to wear them & I'm so glad I bought them!!!

I plan on wearing them a little this summer because my hair stylist told me they shouldn't be brand new on the wedding day -- they are too silky at first and don't hold styles as well - just a tip!

OK this is good so definitely made with real hair, make sure to break them in, and where did you purchase from? And I got to have sticker shock? How much did you spend?

I use clip in extensions and never had any issues with them. Definitely planning on using them on wedding day and will be bringing them along for my hair trials when the time comes.

roman_holiday makes a good point though about them not being brand new (if you go with clip ins). My extension curls hold so much better after they've been curled a couple times and not freshly washed. It will also be good for you to wear them so your head can get used to wearing them because when I first started they gave me light headaches but now I even forget when I'm wearing them.

    Good luck!

I bought Bellami Kylie Kouture extensions and my stylist couldn't stop raving about them when she did my trial. I have thin hair/ hair loss due to a health condition. And she was able to do this style

Sorry to be asking a question on your post, but I am considering extensions too! Are you supposed to get your extensions cut so they match your hair style?

The gal that does my hair said to go to Sally's Beauty and get clip one. They'll be around $80 she said, but make sure they are human hair. That's what I plan to do!

I bought Cashmere hair extensions for the same reasons, having no experience with extensions. I was kind of surprised at how expensive they were too, but I figured that 1) I want to achieve the vision I have in my head for my wedding hair and 2) I can wear them again. It's not like I can only wear them for my wedding day.

I have some in for bit of length and volume...they were a great match! The cost was $150 from a local beauty supply store.

I'm using Halo Couture extensions. I have thyroid and iron issues and my hair got pretty thin and is still growing back ii, so I don't want to do anything that will damage my hair while it's still recovering I tried on a Halo last night just to get a feel for the weight/texture/attachment/length. I'd share a pic, but it was a completely different color (bright blonde in my brown hair) and only tried it to decide before ordering in my color.

I love the Bellami hair extensions, specifically the Lilly clip ins. They add length/volume and come in a ton of colors.

I want to do hair extensions as well because my hair is short and I don't think is going to grow that much by next year . I never had hair extensions I'm in the same boat as you

@soon to be mrs k how does the halo extensions fit in your hair and not damage ? Is that the one with the string that sits on your head like a head band?

I was in a wedding in January where the bride wore clip-ins and they looked great! I used to wear them daily and no one ever knew.

Yes, that's the one with the string. Normally headbands bug me and fall off because my head is small, but this stayed put. The Remi hair is on a thing with adjustable straps (like a bra or wig), so we can adjust it to be smaller for my head. That strip has two clips to secure to my head and is attached to a wire. The whole thing is place on my head like a ring, then my natural hair is pulled up and over the wire/top of the extension. It would be secure enough to wear around with just the two clips, but I'll be adding extra pins to secure it for dancing.

Here's a picture of the horribly mismatched color to show the length it adds. It's Remi hair, so it can be styled to match my naturally curly hair. This trial was just for the feel/length. For color, they had me color match to my lightest hair (a caramel) and then it will be dyed darker in some areas to match my hair without highlights. These types of extensions can be dyed darker, but cannot be bleached without damaging over time.

I think it's a wonderful idea. My hair is medium length now , but I plan on just getting trims until my wedding day.
