Hair extensions!

Madeline, on April 20, 2017 at 5:48 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

In your opinion, which kind would be better for wedding? Tape in extensions or a full head piece clip in? And how much does a tape in cost? I'm stuck between the two. Please help me.!

Tape in lasts longer and you would probably have to get them done in advance with your stylist. The price to purchase them and have them put in would depend on your stylist. I would have a consultation with your stylist to see which one would be better. I guess it would come down to if you want to be able to just take the extensions out after your wedding or have to maintain them until you see your stylist again because with tape ins they are basically glued to your hair.

I used to get extensions all the time. I DO NOT recommend tape in you will damage your hair when removing!! Get clip ins they will stay in your hair!! If you want to keep then in for sometime get them sewn in ( this requires the stylist to braid portions of your hair and sew the extensions in) sew ins last me like 3 weeks and I literally wash my hair everyday and have very very long hair

I recently started looking at extensions. So far in my research Luxy seem to be pretty good. I haven't purchased yet though, still researching!

Look into halo extensions. It's literally an elastic headband of extensions you slip under your top layer of hair. I competed in Miss America system pageants and they were perfect and did not damage hair

I worked in a wig shop. Do not tape anything to your head! Clip only. Find some one who knows what they are doing!

@kate D I'm thinking of getting halo extensions! Do they stay in place we'll?

If it damages hair, why do hair stylist recommend it?

My stylist does tape-ins and we had discussed doing them for my wedding. I don't think I'm going to do it (I've been working on growing out my hair and getting it healthier) but that's what she recommended.

I used clip in extensions from Cashmere. The hairstylist clipped them in for me the morning of the wedding. It took no time at all, they stayed put all night, and it made my shorter, thin hair look full and voluminous. However, I did have to send one set back because the color did not match and then the ones I exchanged them for I had to dye to get them to match perfectly. They do have swatch rings you can purchase, but I didn't want to spend on that which is why I did trial and error on my part. However, each set comes sealed, but with one clip-in extension in a front pocket (unsealed) that you can take out to compare to your own hair. As long as the full set remains sealed, you can return/exchange them. In photos below, you can see my real hair's length, thickness, and color, and then see how the extensions looked on the wedding day. They were 16" extensions, I didn't want them too long. They blended beautifully and the clips didn't show at all. They are also real hair.

I recently purchased clip in extensions and tested them out. Jumped, danced, and wore them the entire day. I also didn't even feel them and kept forgetting I had them in.

HIGHLY recommend Halo Extensions! Mine has lasted me about eight years and I have dyed it multiple times. It no longer provides length to my hair, so I will be getting a new one.

I have a "halo" and it's the best investment I've ever made. I bought it in October 2015 and still wear it regularly. TOTALLY worth it.
