Hair Extension Opinions

Okay Ladies! I have MAJOR hair envy. My hair is super thin and breaks easily so it never makes it far past my shoulders. I’ve tried everything. Vitamins, really expensive shampoos, I use heat protectant, attempted to wash every other day, etc. NOTHING WORKS. So I ordered some clip in extensions not to long ago and decided I want to wear them for engagement photos/my wedding. For starters: do they look legit? If anyone has used them in the past on their big day: Did you like them? Were they annoying all night? Were you worried they were going to fall out? I’ve attached photos above of my normal crappy hair and my attempt at putting the extensions in myself. Let me know your thoughts! (I need to get my highlights done again and then the color will match perfectly)

I think they look great! I personally can't tell that they're extensions.

My hair is as fine and thin as yours! Fine hair gals unite!!

So the extensions you bought look perfect to be honest. I'm wearing my hair up in a twist because I personally didn't want to deal with extensions all night long. I would ask your hair stylist their opinion on the matter and see what they come up for an updo. You'd be surprised what a bunch of bobby pins can do nowadays.

But if you really want to wear your hair down...the extensions look absolutely beautiful.

They look good! I have the same problem and went and got clip ins. I will not do them myself though for fear they will fall out lol. I have been wearing them to events and weddings to get used to them and I just go to the Fantastic Sam's up the road and have them put them in the right way for $15.

I wore extensions! For a year prior, I used Ovation Cell Therapy shampoo, conditioner, treatment, stopped coloring my hair at all, used bi-weekly hair masks, slept on a silk pillowcase, used no pull hair ties, limited my blow dryer use to 1-2 times a week, never used curling irons or straighteners, took collagen & biotin everyday, and I STILL wore extensions. Yes, my hair improved in health a lot but I wanted it to be a little longer. These extensions are 2-3" longer than my normal hair. I got them from Milk & Blush for $260. I did my trial with them so my hair stylist knew how to style them. I couldn't feel them all night! I did wear them on my bachelorette & rehearsal dinner too, so I was used to them. I would not get cheap ones or not human hair ones if you want them to stay curled though.Hair Extension Opinions 3

I don’t have any personal experience with extensions because I have very thick hair but I think they look beautiful and once you highlight to match I don’t think anyone will know

I have this problem as well! Thin hair is a drag to style so I feel your frustration with trying to achieve hair growth.

Your extensions look amazingly natural, I don't think anyone could tell unless you tell them.

Your natural hair in the first picture is really beautiful Taylor!

You did an amazing job putting in the extensions! They look really great! Were you happy with how they looked?

Are you going to have a hairstylist do your hair for your wedding day? if so, they will have experience putting them in so that they stay in place!

I think they look great! I looked at the pictures before I read your post and honestly couldn't tell that they were extensions.

I think they look great too!!

I have a similar hair situation, and so I was determined to get extensions, but I didn't really know much about them, or how they would work. So, I spoke to my hair stylist, and she agreed to put them in for me on the day of my hair and makeup trial. I got the tape in kind. Stylist said I could leave them in for up to 2 months, and wash and style them as usual. So I did!!

It was a little weird getting used to all that hair (I got some really long ones that went halfway down my back), but otherwise, it was like my own hair. They felt strange the first day, but then I got used to it, and it was fine. The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't put my hair up in a ponytail or clip because of the way the stylist put them in, and because they were taped in, I couldn't move any of the placements. So, I went to put my hair up one day, and you could see the little tape strips once I lifted all my hair up off my neck. So, I may actually switch to the clip ins for the wedding. But this was a good learning experience for me. And I actually kept the extensions in for about a month! It was cool having really long hair for awhile!

Hi ! I have had hair extensions on and off for about 9 years - YES 9 YEARS ! Lol I found the clip ins to be the most convenient because I could take them out whenever I wanted — I’m so happy now - sorry have to brag - after having my daughter 4 years ago I have had thicker hair and it grows so fast!!! It’s like the hair goddesses answered my prayers after having my daughter lol !!

But what im saying is -YOU LOOK AMAZING - Yes clip ins are amazing and if put in correctly won’t shift around while you wear them .. I would advise you to only wear the “human hair” extensions that way you can style them as you please and they look/feel way better than the synthetic or the combination ones..

This happened to my mother after she had kids! I am praying I got that gene because thin hair is the saddest thing ever!

I desperately want long hair and would love tape ins but I go to the gym frequently and have my hair in a pony tail. I've looked into the chemically bonded kind but they are SO EXPENSIVE. Not sure I'd want to fork over that kind of money for hair that only lasts a few months. I'll definitely be taking these to my hair stylist for my trial run to ensure she can work with themSmiley smile

I've definitely considered wearing my hair up for my actual wedding because I think it will be easier to deal with and my face looks thinner when my hair isn't in my face but I think I definitely want to go down for my engagement and bridal photos!

Let me clarify: I was able to put my hair up in a ponytail with the extensions. It's just that I could see a couple of the pieces of tape through the thinness of my real hair. I was just a bit self-conscious about it, that's all. But I think if I was doing them again, I would have my stylist place them in such a way so I could wear my hair up or down, and they wouldn't show. This wasn't a priority the first time, because we were practicing my wedding hairdo, which will be half up/half down.
