Hair and makeup

I'm doing my own makeup, but I will be having my hair done. I prefer to have the stylist come to my venue to do my hair rather than going to the salon.

I went to a salon without an appointment aha mostly because I went right when they opened and knew they wouldn't be busy so I was lucky.

I hired 4 stylists to come to the bridal suite the morning of. I got my hair & makeup done, my mother, my husband's mother & stepmother, the flower girl, and my 9 bridesmaids all got our hair done. I way preferred being at the bridal suite rather than a salon.

I don’t think one option is any better than the other. I think it totally depends on the situation and the venue vs the amount of time you have to get ready at the venue. I only get access to our venue an hour before the start of the ceremony. So I’ll be getting my hair and makeup done at a salon.

Getting my hair done at a salon but my MoH is doing my make-up.

I’m having the salon come to me. I don’t want to be driving all over the morning I’d my wedding. Plus that means we can enjoy a few mimosas while getting ready.

I'm having hair and makeup come to us at the hotel. Those getting it done will be myself and my bridesmaids. My MoH won't be able to make it because she's being deployed, so I'll probably see if my grandma or someone would like to take her place since I've already paid for everyone.

I had hair and makeup come to me. I think it’s more preferable because it’s less you need to do the morning of the wedding but most hair and makeup artists require a minimum number of services in order to travel. So something to think about!

I will be having both done. I debated back and forth between going to the salon or having them come to me. The travel fees are a little crazy, but in the end I decided it would make my day less stressful so it's worth. Granted, our venue is an hour from the salon. So I would have lost 2 hours of my day just driving to and from. If my salon was right down the road, I probably would've saved the travel fee money and just went to them. So while there's obviously some other logistics that play into it, the main thing is do you want to pay more money to be more relaxed day of? Also I should add that I'm the only one getting professional hair and makeup. I've heard some girls say that they had a ton of fun in the salon because the entire bridal party was there getting their hair/makeup done too. So that could always play a factor in your decision.

Im having mine come to me at my getting ready location. I like not having to worry about another place to travel too and being able to just relax as much as possible since we are doing a first look at the getting ready location. So if we get behind its not too big of a deal. Also my girl didnt charge extra to come to me so that was a big bonus

My hair artist and makeup artist are both traveling to me since we will be getting ready in the bridal suite!

My hair person is coming to us at the bridal suite to do our hair. Mine, 3 bridesmaids and to help the flower girls too. She is a family friend so she is also invited to the wedding so she won't be charging a travel fee. We are doing our own makeup.

We are staying at a hotel 7 minutes from the venue and there was no way I wanted to add extra drive time (hair would be an hour away and makeup would have been 30 minutes in the opposite direction!) to my day. They have never worked with each other but have been super amazing about making sure everything goes smooth time wise. I would totally say if they are willing to come to you, do it! I think its way more comfortable and you don't have random other's in the salon listening in... I was getting my hair dyed to go back to natural after someone did WAY too much bleaching and people kept walking in yelling "DONT DO IT!" nuuhuuu, not cool.

I am providing pro hair and makeup for my maid of honor (not having a bridal party just a MOH) my mom and me. I’m having the stylists come to our venue, it is so much easier and more relaxing/better vibe in my opinion. That way we can relax and have mimosas!

Hi! I’m getting my hair/makeup done at a salon near my hotel. I found there is usually extra expense to have the artists travel to you. And since I don’t have a bridal party, it didn’t make since for them to travel just to do me. If you have a full party though, consider them coming to you for the sake of logistics & staying on time.

We all had our hair and makeup done (I paid for everyone) and they came to us. I specifically wanted someone who could come to us as then we were rushing around to get everywhere. We stayed at the venue and their bridal suite is perfectly set up for this.

It was a must for a bridal suite to be included with our venue so we could have the HMU team come to us. I didn't want to be traveling around all day trying to get things done. If you can have them come to you, I don't think you'll regret it. One less thing for you to have to worry about.
