Hair and makeup trial question

Nicole, on September 22, 2019 at 3:05 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 5
I am thinking this may be a waste of time and money, but looking for opinions. I am having a destination wedding in 36 days ekkkk and my question is I have a hair and makeup trial scheduled the day before my wedding. Is that just a waste of time and money? I just want to look perfect the day of and although this is a highly rated business I just don’t know...

I’m having a destination wedding as well, and I will not be having a trial. Just do your research and check the reviews of whomever you book with. I don’t see any value in it, as it’s not like you would have the opportunity to change your HMU artist. I also don’t want to spend a great deal of time away from my family and friends getting a trial done, when I could be on the beach or having cocktails with them. I think they will be used to working with destination brides too, so should be more adaptable than perhaps a local artist who is more in tune to what’s fashionable in your area at the time.

    Hey Nicole!!

This is totally your own decision. As Jeanie demonstrated, lots of brides opt not to have a trial and they will look absolutely beautiful!

The benefit of a trial is that you will have the opportunity to give your MUA and hairstylist your thoughts and opinions about what you want to change for your wedding day, be it to change your lipstick color, different eyeshadow or even just a lighter or heavier foundation. In the event that your makeup is absolutely perfect for your trial, that’s great and you know exactly how you will look on your wedding day, but if there is something that you wish to change, it gives you the freedom to change and experiment a little bit without it being on the day of your wedding.

The point of having the trial is to see what looks and feels good to you. on the day of, there won't be time to start over if you dislike the outcome, but at the trail if something is done that you don't like they can try something else. i think it's super important. makeup especially since bridal makeup can be a little heavy if you aren't used to wearing a lot of makeup.

If you’re not sure - do it. But you can always bring photos of makeup and hair you like. I think a trial is worth it.

I am doing a DW and I have opted not to. I have stalked my HMUA social media pages and read all the reviews from previous brides. It seemed silly to me to get the trial done because as someone else mentioned with it being the day before your wedding its not like you really have time to find someone new if you don't like it. I recommend bringing a few photos (all very similar in style just different angles) and showing them to your HMUA so they know what it is you are looking for.
