Hair and Makeup trial disaster

I think your hair looks great.

I think that you look beautiful, but what's more important is that you have to FEEL beautiful. You can give her another try if that is what your gut is telling you, but then move on until you find someone who makes you feel that you look amazing.

I think you look beautiful!!! Seriously! We all criticize ourselves when we look at our make up up close, especially since we are wearing more make up than usual for the occasion. If you want your hair to match the picture, I would suggest telling her to make your curls look a little tighter/polished and to make sure the curls around your face are curled away from your face. The model's hair is also parted down the middle, so that could be some other feedback you may want to give her. I hope this helps!

From the front the hair looks great. I see what you mean about the make up tho.. I truly wouldn’t be happy with that either. Mayb communicate with her what happened and see if you could do another trial maybe half priced or free otherwise go elsewhere for another trial.

I think your hair and makeup look amazing! I don’t see the issues you’re mentioning! I would be super happy with this as my trial, but the important thing is that YOU’RE happy! I wouldn’t look for another HMUA, but see what feedback you could give this person for your actual wedding. I agree that parting your hair down the middle would match the model’s look more, and tell them what you noticed about the airbrush being on your eyebrows/eyelashes. I also think your eyeliner looks a bit messy. But these things can be improved! I honestly think this HMUA did get the look you were going for and was far from being a disaster!

You look beautiful but I understand what you mean. I love your hair from the front but the back looks a little straggly. The makeup is not what I would expect from a professional. In my opinion it doesn’t look airbrushed at all which could be from her low quality machiene. I think she did a great job but the end result is not what your looking for and she’s super expensive compared to the few hmua that I’ve connected with.

Is this HMUA in the Keys, by any chance? Sounds like it could be the same one I am planning to use (destination and personal makeup artist to a big celebrity). I wasn't planning to do a trial, but if this is your feedback, I may need to squeeze one in.

The front of your hair looks amazing. The back looks like you were leaning on it while driving for 2 hours which crushes curls. The eye makeup doesn't really look like the picture. It's so light.

I think you look beautiful, but I do understand not feeling comfortable with the results. I felt that way with my "trial" for my engagement pictures. Everybody else said I looked beautiful, but I didn't feel that way. I'm not going to be using her for my wedding actually because of this. I found someone else, and I will have another trial closer to the date but she's giving me a reasonably cost because she knows I wasn't happy and it's my second trial.

Have you ever done airbrush before? I know that it's a different feel because it's less "cakey" but it doesn't give an all around coverage look. Your HMUA might have been in a rush or didn't feel it was necessary to do a great job because it was just the trail, but she should have gone over with bronzer and such and finished the job properly. I would speak to her very frankly with your concerns. Also, mention that one of the reasons you were so unhappy was the oily feeling you had right after you left her place. It might be better to go with regular foundation instead of the airbrush. You can also ask her if primer will help with the oily situation, and setting powder might help too.

Yeah, I've had airbrush before and it was honestly the best I've ever looked! It makes me feel better to hear that you decided not to go with your first choice and ended up doing another trial. I paid a deposit to this lady and I'll end up losing that and the $200 I paid for my trial, but it is what it is I guess. Thanks for your response!

From those pics I don't think your makeup looks bad. Your inspo looks like the makeup is a little darker. She has different eye brows, nose shape & skin tone & that may be what's throwing you off. If she did another layer of spray she deff should have redid your contour,blush everything that goes over that for sure. Did she spray you after with a setting spray? If not that might be why you were so oily after but you deff have to set your makeup after.

Maybe tell her you were't that pleased with your makeup and see if she will offer you a discounted rate for another trial? But I don't think your makeup is horrible by any means,

I think your overall look is beautiful, but the makeup is definitely rough. The foundation looks caked-on and the eyeliner isn't straight. You also definitely need more color on your cheeks and I see what you're saying about there being foundation on your lashes. You look gorgeous, but not like you had your makeup done by a professional.

It sucks to waste the money, but if I were in your position, I'd look for someone else.

I think the front of your hair looks great! the back looks like its needs more. Your makeup is pretty but it doesn't look bridal to me. I feel like your eyes need to be more dramatic.

While you look great-- it looks like something a person who is comfortable doing their own hair and makeup would do before someone else's event. I regularly do my own hair and makeup for weddings and I think I look fabulous, but I wouldn't have considered doing it myself on my wedding day which is why I paid for a professional. This is not professional to me. Your hair is already falling apart and your makeup is so much more subtle than what's pictured. I had airbrushing done on my wedding day and it looked flawless -- I have a hairy face lots of blonde peach-fuzz but I have no intentions of ever waxing/threading my face and irritating my skin -- your hair can be seen in the pictures above. You showed her your inspo and discussed what you wanted and didn't want and if she listened you'd be happy with the results. Find someone else or be unhappy throughout your wedding day.

Try adore & co , she is awesome and affordable and she comes to you. She also does destination weddings .

You look beautiful but I get what you’re saying. I’d possibly find someone else to do my makeup. Another chance is nice but not worth dropping $200 more. This was her chance to show you why you “need” her to do your makeup.

I think it looks gorgeous! I will say though that with your hair, in order to make it look more like the inspo pic she should’ve curled your hair back, not forward!!!

It also would look more like the inspo pic if she had filled in your eyebrows to define them and give them more shape!
