Hey all,
So I had a question and wanted to get some opinions. I am looking at salons for my bridal party and I to get our hair and makeup done. I found a spot I like and who will take 25% off if you do it at their salon, instead of on location. Now, I can't pay for their full hair and makeup, but I was going to offer to pay for one of the services. I would probably pay for hair, and they can decide if they want their makeup done. So my issue lies with the hair and makeup package. If a BM gets hair and makeup, it's $135, but if they just get one service, it's $75. All of my bridesmaids, but one, want hair and makeup done. For the sake of the contract and streamline-ness, should I schedule and pay for the combination service, then just have my bridesmaids pay me back? For most places, anyone paying has to have a contract and it's going to make it more complicated and more expensive, if they have to pay and schedule their individual services.

That should work provided everyone agrees to that upfront. I would make sure you tell them your plan before you do it. Are you paying the tip also? If not they need to know that.

Hey Dana!
It makes total sense that your bridal appointment needs to be booked in together, so your girls will understand that. You should make it clear that you will be paying for all of your girl's hairstyles and having their makeup done is totally optional and will not be covered by you. As long as they understand that you are not requiring it and they can choose to do their own makeup if they would prefer, then it sounds perfect.
As you said, explain to your girls that the bill has to be paid all together so if they opt to get their makeup done, they will owe you for that service. You should make sure this is clear from the very beginning and that everyone understands and is in agreement.

Paying for them in advance depends on how reliable they are. You can send them a Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, etc. request and have them pay you before you book, or you can pay up front it you're not sacrificing something to not be paid back immediately or at all. My Nana always told me: "Never lend out what you cannot afford to lose".

I would have them Venmo you a set amount and you take care of the remaining balance with the salon.
