Hair and make up clothes

Ann, on August 30, 2019 at 11:29 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 16
Are you wearing a robe while getting your make up done? I’m confused to wear my wedding dress (and then reception dress the day after) and getting my hair and make up done with it on or not. My artist was telling me to have my dress on. I’m planning to have the artist come to my home to get me ready as I feel most comfortable at home. Please advise!

I personally would avoid wearing the dress during makeup application. Powders, foundations, liquids could easily stain your dress. If you can put on your dress from bottom to top that would be the best way to avoid messing up your makeup. And wear a robe so it’s easy to slip in and out of

I wore a robe. You don’t need to wear a robe but some kind of zip or button-down top would help. I wouldn’t wear your dress. Too dangerous.

I agree with PPs, there's no way I would have my makeup done while wearing my dress. You can wear a robe, button up, or just a deep v-neck shirt. Anything that's easy to slip over your head.

I agree with the consensus. I'd be too afraid to wear my dress during hair and makeup. As long as you can get into your dress bottom up it should be fine.

I wouldn't wear your dress , you never know what will happen! I have a button up shirt sleeve pj top that I put vinyl on the back that says BRIDE. I definitely wanted a button up, zip up or robe so it's easy to take off without ruining my hair.

I would wear a robe or a button down shirt or something you can easily take off without messing up your hair or makeup. I’ve never worn my gown whenever I’ve gotten my hair or make up professionally done.

I wouldn’t wear your dress. There’s no reason you should have it on. Not sure why she told you that. If you have to put it over your head yes like be careful to not ruin hair makeup or the dress but you should definitely wear a rob or something that you can take off without going over your head. So I personally am not a fan of the robs just because then you have to wear something under it to so I’m doing button pajamas that way I can just in button them and out my dress

I definitely wouldn’t wear the dress. I just wore a cami tank (that I could pull down over my hips), and button down, and shorts. I put the dress on last!

I would wear a robe. Anything can fall on your dress when doing makeup.

I’m doing a button down flannel for HMU, then will put on my dress later. No way would I risk makeup on my dress!
