Guests who rsvp for our wedding who aren’t invited.

Angelica , on June 26, 2019 at 1:12 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4
My FH and I sent out our invitation and we are receiving RSVP’s via website, but we have also received a RSVP of someone we didn’t invitation who are adult kids of my FH step cousin. We didn’t invite some family and friends because we wanted to keep our guest list down. How would you handle it?

    1. Lock up your website so that people who aren't invited don't RSVP.
    2. I think you're going to have to reach out to them and explain that there isn't any room for them, so very sorry.

    3. Figure out how they got that information, and shut down those who are leaking it.

100% this. It may be too late to password protect your website at this point since you already sent the info out to your guests.

Is this on the wedding wire site? I'm using it, but I think you can only RSVP if I've put your name on the guest list. So, even if someone gets our website address, they have to search for their name and cannot RSVP without it.

I can also password protect it, but I think that is overkill.

You're going to have a very awkward conversation. If it's your Fiance's side have him call and do it. Just have him say he noticed an RSVP on your website, that the wedding is invitation only because you really cannot have more than your allotted amount of guests and he's very sorry but that meant they weren't invited.
If you can password protect the site do it.
I'd also put Wedding is invitation only on the website.
