Florence, on October 13, 2019 at 7:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
Makes me crazy that my guests do not take the time to respond.
Why? Can’t decide?

We invited about 75 people...I think I got about 5 mailed back. I"m annoyed at my wasting the postage on the RSVP cards. I have a decent idea though of who is coming because of the facebook event page I created, but it's very frustrating for sure

Do you feel obligated to call them to see if they are coming?

I probably should do that, but when I have seen them i've asked them, i've repeatedly asked on the event page. We have enough food and stuff if they all show. I just think it's so rude to not mail them back or at least call me

Oh my goodness, yes! I spent almost $100 in postage alone, so people couldnt use the "I didnt have a stamp" excuse. I got half back. I was so mad that I even spent the money for that.

We had a few get lost in the mail or honestly lost in guests’ homes! More often than not, people don’t mean to not respond even though for us waiting it’s big deal.

One friend is moving so they hid their mail for home showings and it got stuck in a pile, another went to throw out a Sunday circular and our invite fell out of it. FH’s one cousin never received an invite even though two other invites successfully made it to the same exact address (we invited each cousin and fiancé/spouse separately). Reach out to each guest, you never know if it got lost or they simply misplaced it.

Ppl always just assume you know that they'll be there. Stress the importance of knowing whose coming thru texts.

Sounds reasonable but we are having a plated dinner so there are food choices to be made. ( Sigh).

I haven't ever heard of a bride not having to follow up on RSVPs, that's just life. Not one of our groomsmen or bridesmaids RSVPed but it was assumed they were going. Not including them, we had to follow up with 61 people after our date. Our guests had our invites for 6 weeks before they were due, and they could RSVP on our website or send our stamped and addressed card back in the mail. Plus we sent save the dates 10 months out. It's just standard to have to follow up.

A lot of times they don't understand how essential numbers are to us! It's annoying still

You are all so kind to respond to my problem. It seems to be everybody’s problem!!! So I will plan on calling all who don’t respond in the next 10 days with a sweet voice and a cheery disposition!!! No bridezilla here!
