Hello,

Im new to wedding wire nad maybe this has been asked before but I didn't know how to find it.

If you have guests that choose to stay somewhere other than the all-inclustive resort that the wedding is at, who should pay for the day pass? Would it be up to the people that chose to stay somewhere else? or should it be the wedding couple?

Please help!

Kristen, we just got married @Grand Palladium White Sands in Riviera Maya Smiley smile They do such an amazing job, it was breathtaking.

All of our guests stayed at the resort, but we still asked about day passes. What we were told is that it really depends on the scheduling of your wedding day. We had a 2pm ceremony, with a 2hr cocktail hour and then a private dinner/dance reception. However, if we would've had a 2pm ceremony and then nothing until 6pm, guests have to purchase them, since they'll be using the resort services instead of going venue-venue.

    Hope this helps!

Oh...and for what it's worth, we told people we weren't going to purchase day passes for them. We chose a hotel that was comparable cost-wise with the other ones in the area. Also, we had 18 guests, so 18*60= 1080 if everyone wanted to stay somewhere else. Check with your travel agent too, because you need a certain minimum of guests at the same hotel in order to even qualify for a wedding, and a group rate.

Yeah, we already have 30 coming with another 15 maybe's and about 50 people that haven't RSVP'd yes or no yet. But I will check to see if we do things closer together maybe they wont need one. We are doing a 1pm ceremony and then the reception is at 6-8 and a private beach party from 8-midnight! We were just gonna let people do what they wanted between the ceremony and reception, but maybe if they are closer together they wont need a day pass.

    Thank-you for the info!

I am getting married at a resort next year In Mexico. We paid the upfront cost to have rooms blocked off. That is apart of the wedding booking process for a destination wedding so if you want to book at another hotel, then the cost is your responsibility.
