Guestbook

My fiance and Inhave gone back and forth on what to do with a guestbook. We wanted our guests to write well wishes on a wooden canvas. However, we are afraid people will just sign their names. I don't want a nice $200 canvas that people have just signed. What are all the other brides out there considering?

We have a guest print tree. The tree will be on a frame in an easel. The guests will use the fingerprint ink in our colors to put their fingerprints (or smudges for those concerned about identity theft) on the tree as leaves. I'll also have a pen there for those who want to sign their prints.

We did message in a bottle so guests could write us a cute message. We also had two jerseys that we used as a guest book that people signed their names. My brother-in-law had a wood sign like what you are describing and some people wrote just their names and others wrote messages. It really depended on the person.

We are doing a traditional guest book and then having little cards that say "A recipe for a happy Marriage" (my future MIL got them cheap on etsy). Guests can then write some advice on those for us and put them in a little recipe box my MIL is providing.

I'm doing a photo booth guest book and hopefully they will write their well wishes next to their picture strip.

We are using this! It's from etsy! You have guests write messages on the pieces of paper and roll them up. Then they go in the wire!

People typically write a short message. If you’re concerned about them only signing names, then have your parents or a bridesmaid write on it first before setting it up and the other guests will follow that lead.

Very cute! I think we're going with the little wooden hearts in the memory box for our wedding reception, and something more memorable for our guest at the rehearsal dinner.
