Guest photo prompts

How many of you did cards to help your guest take photos for your wedding? I really love the idea of seeing your wedding from your guests view and seeing pictures of THEM having fun. What are some things that you put on your cards or wish you had put on your cards?

We are def going to use something like WedPics but I've seen "I Spy" type of cards with ideas of what to take photos of, i.e. groom playing with his ring, picture of your entire table, etc. So I was kind of wondering what some good ideas are so I can start compiling a list!

We didn't use cards but we did put the disposable cameras on the tables and guests actually loved that. I wasn't sure if they'd be a hit because they are obviously outdated but it really prompted guests to take a lot of pictures.

As far as ideas for cards, here are some I thought of/have seen.

    -Guests laughing

    -The best dancers

    -Bride & Groom sneaking off

    -The photographer in action

    -The cake topper

I Spy would be a great way to pass that along (I've been to two weddings that have done it...at one wedding it did great and tables were actually competing against each other and the other it totally tanked!).

We used an Instagram hashtag. We had one sign by our guestbook/name cards as guests entered. It worked great! We got a lot of great pics.

We considered WedPics but then figured everyone would already have Instagram and would be more likely to use an app they already have and are familiar with then use data to download a new app and figure out how to use it. We have tech-savvy friends but I thought about if I saw that at a wedding I'd be like...meh. And not do it. Sheer laziness. But I will insta the fuck out of your wedding!

Instagram hashtags are great, but you need to make sure it is obvious what it is. I went to a wedding and they had a lot of small signs with their hashtag that no one paid attention to. So maybe put it in the invite, program, your website and a big sign at the reception Smiley smile

On the back of our thank you we wrote our photo info, had a advice section and instead of clinking some ideas....

Edited: I really love to see other peoples wedding from the non pro's eyes....so often those are treasured photos so I am glad to have a semi plugged in event.

I went to a wedding last weekend were they used EverSnap and it was pretty cool because during the reception, they had it loaded and showing on a screen. It was fun to see the pictures we had taken and the bride and groom loved seeing them too.
