Dedicated November 2020

Guest List

So with the corona virus going on, my fiancé and I have decided to do something smaller with our friends and family for our wedding. I have a large family unfortunately. Would it be terrible to try and not have children at the ceremony except for like siblings? And how would I go about telling my guests this? All the sage advice would be much appreciated. Thank you Smiley smile

I Don't Think It's Terrible, Just Keep In Mind Some People Might Not Have Sitters. For Me I Put On My RSVP Page That Children Are Welcome But Not Preferred Due To Limited Capacity.

It's completely fine to limit children to your siblings only. Simply don't invite children. Address the invitation to who is invited not who isn't; for example, Mr. and Mrs. Smith instead of The Smith Family. Also indicate the number of seats you've reserved for their household on the RSVP card.

I would suggest and maybe have the RSVP card printed so you can fill out the names of those specifically attending with a check box next to each name.

    Hi Elizabeth,

It's your wedding, and you should do what's right for YOU. I've attended several adults-only weddings. I've also attended at least a couple of weddings where specific exceptions are made for the niece(s) and nephew(s) of the couple, which is immediate family / siblings' kids.

Here are three related (older) discussions:

    - No children

    - No kids

    - No children at wedding

Good luck with your planning! Smiley heart
