Dedicated July 2020

Guest list

So me and my FH are trying to keep our list at 100-105 guest cause it’s $30 a plate, but when we made our list we had 124 people 🤦🏾‍♀️ How should we go about eliminating people ?

If you haven’t seen them or talked to them in the last year, cross them off the list. If they aren’t your friends or family (so basically if they are only invited because another guest asked to have them there), cross them off the list.

I would say that a percentage of those people won’t come anyway but I agree that if they aren’t close friends or family then cut them.

We were told to assume a certain percentage won’t come (you can probably google what the average was) so if you invite a little over your dream number, you’re good!

However, if the venue only holds that number, I would try to think of the people that you want to be surrounded with the most on your special day. Everyone else will understand it’s an intimate wedding.

I usually see 10-20% decline rate in articles and that's exactly what I got but I definitely agree not to invite more in anticipation of the decline rate because you never know, they may not decline.
I agree with PP about crossing people off whom you haven't even spoken to in a long time.

In my opinion, id bet you have at least that many not show. Your probably good where you are.but if you want to cut down anyway there are some great algorithms on pinterest to help.

I woukd say have a A list and a B list. If people on the A list decline, you can choose someone from the B list. Stick with closest family and friends and go from there

We cut: kids, SOs of cousins who weren't married/engaged, coworkers, and people we didn't plan on seeing again before the wedding. That took off a good 30-40 people from our guest list.
