Just Said Yes June 2020

Guest list just over room volume

So how many people actually decline? We have 100 as the room capacity and our number is about 110. We can cut some, and I expect several won't come, but..are we screwed here?

I've always read plan for full attendance. What would you do it all 110 people RSVPed yes?

I would cut some. You also have to include yourselves, and if the capacity is fire code capacity (like, this is how many people fit in this room), you would have to include your vendors too (like DJ and photographer).

I know my ceremony site requires that you include yourselves, all guests (including small children) and vendors (photographer and officiant no other are allowed in the park) in the count.

You should assume that every person will accept your invitation.

I think it depends on who you are inviting. We are inviting some people from overseas and out of town who will likely not all show up. But we can fit everyone in our venue if they do RSVP yes so like others said I would cut to 100 invites

Here is the sad reality, yes you need to assume all who are invited will RSVP Yes, but as we all know that is not how it pans out. Also there will be at least 1 person who RSVP's Yes and doesn't show up day of, another sad reality.

I would say 10 people over capacity is ok - there will be declines and no-shows.

Also when I planned events for a small family jewelry store almost every event had a 10% decline/no show.

We thought we would have several declines but out of the 68 people invited, 65 rsvp'd yes and showed up so don't plan on having several declines.

If you know FOR A FACT that a handful won't come, I think you're fine. We'e at 245 and hoping for 200. That being said, if everyone RSVP's yes, it's not a huge deal. We'll just have to pay more money. For us, we have family in NY (we're in TX) and they aren't in a great financial situation so I know that they will not be attending due to flights, hotels, etc. It's a read your crowd kind of thing.
