Guest List Dilemma

Hi ladies! My fiance & I are having trouble with our guest list. The venue that we reserved has a capacity of 250 people, if we go over, there's a fee we would have to pay. We ended up shortening the list a little bit but we also have to think about the vendors that'll be there. Another issue is that my fiance would like to have parents bring their kids but I disagree since it'll just add to the list. Has anyone had this kind of problem

Do you have to pay a few for going over and still pay per person for food and drinks as well????
Also not everyone is coming. How may people do you plan on inviting? And I agree about the no kids. My wedding will be child free as well

Are you sure the venue includes vendors in their head count? Ours has a 250 cap for guests and us. We invited 277 and just sent invitations yesterday but I am positive we won’t go over 250.

I had the same issue. But usually not everyone says yes so you would ideally have some space in the end.

I’ve never heard of a venue counting vendors into guest head count, unless 250 people capacity is set for safety / fire code purposes.
Many people have adult only wedding or they compromise & invite only family children.
250 people is a huge wedding, I would assume anyone could narrow their guest list down to fit this number.
