What was/is everyones guest count? Just curious to see the different sized weddings. Our minimony was 35 of our closest family and friends. For our big wedding March 2021 our guest count right now is around 110 but we are trying to get it down to 80 just in case COVID makes us change it. What was/is...

Thankfully, I figured out they had declined, but most of them refused to do even that.

Be warned: people ignore rsvp dates

Ha! Ha! I know! We live in the South and everyone wants to come celebrate. I'm originally from the New Orleans area if that helps explain. Smiley winking I doubt we'll have more than 200- 250 actually attend. It should be a blast if covid is gone, which I pray! 🙏

The guest count has been my biggest source of stress throughout the whole planning process. RIGHT now, the total human beings count (including me and my future husband) is 104 people. We have a pretty big 16-person bridal party, 8 men, 8 women, so 104-18 (bridal party, bride, groom)= 86 "Guests". I am seriously hoping that number ends up being closer to 75 guests when it's all said and done. (1. Catering is expensive, 2. Possible Covid space restrictions)

Our bridal party is 14 so pretty much around the same as yours. And yes catering is definitely expensive, especially the open bar portion!

110 sounds like a nice number. Right now, My fiancé and I are at 200 (which I doubt half will show up). I honestly want to lower that by half to save on expenses, but my fiancé has a large family and wants every single one of them there.

We've decided to have a minimony on our original anniversary date in April so that will be about 25-35 people I think. We have about 170 for our big wedding on 10.17.2021 but I desperately want to knock it down. I have a big family though and we have quite a few friends so just hoping we can figure it out before the time comes. Hopefully Covid won't be as bad by then either!

200 is definitely alot of people lol. My husband and I decided that we're not inviting all of our families. If we don't talk to them, see them, or don't have a close relationship with them then they won't be in attendance it doesn't matter that they are family.

You're doing the same thing that my husband and I decided to do! Hopefully there won't be as many restrictions next year

I hope so! I adore the idea of having our original anniversary date as our wedding anniversary date - its a much better time to celebrate for us because October is in the midst of our "busy season" (birthdays & the holidays) so this way we get to celebrate our marriage at a less busy time.

How did you do planning both events? I'm a little drained from planning the big wedding so planning the minimony has me on edge. I want that day to be special as well but I don't want to pay too much for that day if I'm already paying for the big event.

Our Jan. 2022 wedding guest list is currently at 193! We decided our cap is 200, and expect around 170 to show up!

This is exactly how I feel. I have a lot of family as well, but I’m not inviting everyone because that bill will be too high. Also, I’m more than sure that half the of our guest will either have to decline or won’t show up and that will be money wasted.

The minimony was sooo easy to plan, I planned it in 6 weeks literally. We rented out a ballroom at the Holiday Inn, my family cooked the dinner for everyone (fried/baked chicken, meatballs, mac&cheese, dirty rice, green beans, deviled eggs, baked beans and a few other things), we ordered a wedding cake and cupcakes from walmart, Amazon had a dinnerware set for 50people for like $40 that included plates, dessert plates, napkins, and silverware. I also ordered my dress from Amazon for $40 as well. We had basic centerpieces (a charger plate with 2 votive candles and fake rose petals)...etc. It really wasn't that expensive, Amazon was my bestfriend my husband and I joke that we had an Amazon wedding Smiley smile

I forgot I had commented on here a while back 😄 But yes! We both come from big families. He's the baby, and I'm an only child, so this wedding is a huge deal for both sides! We chose 2022 because we knew our guest count would be high, and we also want everyone to be able to attend.
