Guest Count!

My wedding is on 18 days, and I have a guest Clint of 120 all RSVP, my question is, should I confirm that exact amount with the venue or a little less? Considering that sometimes guests RSVP but don’t show up. I just don’t want to pay for the extra guests and then they don’t show.

I would give them the number that you have and not less. Most venues will ask you for a final number the week before the wedding. I would ask what your drop dead date is for payment.

You should definitely give them the number of people that confirmed they were attending. You may have some people that are no shows, but that's better than everyone showing up and you told the venue something different.

We had 7 people not show which was several hundred dollars. But in the end I could’ve never predicted that and last thing you want is for someone to not have a seat. If I were to do it over again I still would’ve said the exact number and paid for the 7 extra

Our venue wants a count 14 days before the wedding and again 7 days before. In that week between, we can decrease the number, but only increase the number after the 7 day mark.

Definitely a sticky situation, but like others have said better to have more than not enough, even if that means you have to pay for dinners for people who don't show after they told you they would.

I plan on shorting it some. They say 10% no show but I also think it depends on number coming and type. Lots of casual, work friends, etc are more likely to no show
