Guest Book

We have a large wooden “H” which is our last name initial that our guests will sign and we will put up at our house.

We have our guitar that our immediate family and bridal party will be signing this year. I am going to get a regular guest book for our reception next year and have the guitar on display for guests to see.

We are doing a photo guest book! We have a few instant cameras that guests can use to get pictures of themselves to then sign and stick in our guest book.

The alternative IS your guestbook. Don't waste money on a traditional book of 50 pages that only a third of your guests will sign.


Haven't decided yet but leaning toward a large matte around an engagement picture that they can sign.

We're doing a whiskey barrel lid to sign on.

We’re doing a record of our first dance song, I’m going to put it in a frame and hang it up after.

We got this wall art at hobby lobby to have everyone sign. I plan to hang it with our wedding photos when I get prints.

We have a canvas print of a tree that people will add leaves to with their thumbprint and sign those. No book!

These are options that I've seen at weddings I've attended:

-Wooden board with last name & wedding date (etsy has tons of options!)

-Framed picture with white border for guests to sign (amazon, walmart has many frame options)

-Polaroid guest book (personal favorite & probably doing this for our wedding!)

-Wooden letter cutout of last name

-Photobook with couple's engagement photos (guests sign on each page)

This is what we decided to do as an alternative to the traditional guest book. (Not our names or wedding date)

I've attended more weddings that didn't have any guestbook or alternative and no one was bothered by it since alot don't sign them anyway. My favorite that I have seen once or twice is an engagement photo in a large matte that is signed.
