Guest book or No Guest book

Asheanus, on August 25, 2017 at 10:55 AM Posted in Planning 0 72

I'm down to the wire and still haven't figured out if I want a guest book or not. What's everyone else doing?

I thought I wanted one off of Etsy, last minute I just bought one at Michael's. Personally, I think it is a waste, I JUST opened it for the first time the other day to read some of the messages. Then I put it back with all our wedding stuff and will probably never look at it again lol

I am still on the fence as well but leaning toward not having one.

I did a canvas for people to sign. that has a higher chance of me looking at it ever again

Not having one. I honestly didn't even know this was a thing.

I think non-traditional things you can use again are great alternatives. Signing jenga pieces, "advice for the newlywed cards" etc.

I hate the idea of a book that's going to be put in a box and looked at maybe once or twice. We're having our guests sign pieces of a Jenga Set that we can lacquer and display Smiley smile look on Etsy, there's TONS of unique guest book ideas that are more creative and more useful!

We got a canvas from Etsy of our home state and country. It now hangs in our home and is a beautiful reminder of our day.

I didn't have one. Our photographer did a great job capturing our guests during the reception. He got a lot of nice candid shots of everyone, which looks awesome in the wedding photo book I'm making.

I don't think it's totally necessary but it's up to you. I purchased an alternative I really like off Etsy, but it can also be used as decoration and I'll be hanging it in the house afterwards. I didn't want the traditional "book" because I knew it would just be stored away and never looked at again.

I'm putting an envelope with vintage-style postcards of our hometown on each table. Guests will write us a note to be read on our X anniversary, where X = table number, so we will read Table 1's messages on our first anniversary, Table 2's on our second, etc. I thought it would be a nice anniversary ritual for us.

We did a regular and photo guestbook. I'm so glad we did the photo guestbook but I don't think either are absolutely necessary.

We're doing an Adventure book from the movie UP!

It will end up being our guestbook and photo album as I will be putting wedding pictures on the extra pages.

I was planning on either skipping it. But it looks like my sister is buying it for me.

We are skipping. I would never look at the book and I wouldn't hang any "art" with people signatures in our house. Pictures and cards from guests will be more than enough.

The only reason we are having one is because a photo book of our engagement photos is included in our photography package. Other than that, it doesn't seem important to me.

Photo booth comes with guest book. We would have gotten one anyway. We are both very sentimental.

Book wise I'm not really sure about because I also think it's a lot to expect the guests to leave a comment. I'm a fan of the paintings where we can hang it in our home.
