Guest book date dilemma

Christin, on September 22, 2020 at 8:52 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Our ceremony is a week before our reception (private ceremony out of town) and I'm not sure what date should go on the guestbook we'll have for guests to sign at the reception. Anyone deal with this or have any advice?

Are you able to put both dates on the book?

If you can't put both, I'd put the date that you actually got married. That's the date that has the most meaning, so even if the party is on a different day, you'll more than likely celebrate the anniversary of your marriage date.

Hi Christin! You can do whatever you'd like!

If both dates are in the same month, you could just engrave the month & year instead of month/date/year. Or I'd use the date of when you'll use the guestbook - so if the guest book is for your reception, use that date!

What did you end up deciding? Our elopement/legal marriage day and wedding celebration day are different months, days, and years thanks to Covid, and I'm wondering the same thing.
