Guest book attendants and other important people

LuckyinLove, on November 2, 2009 at 1:32 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

I don't know if this is a silly question or not though here goes... For the people that you have asked to be guest book, card box, and all the other important attendants at your wedding ceremony/reception, are you asking them to do this for a certain amount of time or the whole night? Did you ask several people to do the same job in shifts so that everyone can still enjoy the evening? I am just not sure how this is supposed to work. Thanks.

Hi there LIL and CONGRATS! You question is very thoughtful do you have hostesses set aside for this day? If you have 2 they can alternate.

I never even thought of this! Do we need these attendants? I would say appoint someone you trust of course with your card box and they will most likely keep an eye on it for the entire reception. For the guest book, I am not sure, it hadn't even occurred to me until you brought this up.

I have to say didnt think about this either. I know I am going to station the security guard by the gifts. But I am doing a Picture frame sign in. So I just thought the guest would do it.

This was a very good question! Maybe at 1st have an attendant at the guest book but once the reception is underway there's no need as far as the card box I would have a trust worthy person to tend it. Do you guys have a coordinator? If so this would be a very good question to ask you might find that they can or will handle that for you so that you can enjoy the reception and not have to wonder. Ihope this helps ladies and CONGRATS you all.

Well, My guest book watchers are my oldest niece and newphew, they're 8 & 9, and have already been a ring bear and flower girl, so that is their job from the time cocktails start 5pm until supper 6-6:15 pm, then we'll just take the cards and guestbook and put them in the vehicle (and the gifts also) They will also put the gifts on the gift table and tell people where the cards go. Our MC, who we haven't asked yet, is my cousin, he knows us both extremely well, and if he can't be m/c, then I'm not sure who we can ask! My sister will be doing a ceremony reading. My grandpa will say grace before supper, and I'm trying to think of a day-of person to make sure everything goes well, she/he will also be there for rehersal, incase anyone forgets what to do/go.
