Guest Book Alternatives

Bethany, on December 21, 2019 at 9:39 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7

Hey y'all!

So right now, me and my FH are looking at some cute, unconventional guest book idea for out wedding. Just because I know if I have people sign a book, it's going to get put away somewhere and never looked at again. I want to have a memento I actually appreciate. And the idea I like the most is a "GoPro Guestbook", where we'd set up a little video booth and as guests come in - either 1 by 1 or in friends groups/couples, etc.. - they would record a little message, give a little advice, a date night idea, bucket list item and so on.

I wondered if anyone has done something like this before and if so, how it went? Our wedding is going to be 175 guests so nothing HUGE. I feel like if it were. larger wedding it would be harder to get people in there, and give them all enough time to leave a message.

Other ideas were a globe - because we love traveling

Or polaroids and an old photo frame where they'd pin them on twine - but polaroids can get pricey.

Everything I also was cheesy to me haha or not anything we'd use. Like a log with everyones names, or the hearts in the picture frame things.. those aren't going on my walls! haha

We did a photo booth. Our guests signed a strip for us, but they also got to keep one. We enjoy looking back over them and reading the sweet messages!

I’ve also seen people do wooden signs with their new last name on them where people sign and hang it in their home.

We are also doing a traditional photo booth, but I like the idea of asking for advice or date night suggestions. Maybe we will put a sign on the photo booth table asking for more than a “congrats” signed to the pictures.

If you like traveling, maybe use an atlas as a guest book. People could sign on the pages of their favorite destinations or trips. It’s also something you could pull out for your own trips and actually use. I’m not sure I want something I have to display because that’s not our style, but a keepsake you’ll use would be kind of cool. Just a thought!

I didn’t want something to hang on my wall, so we’re doing a photo book of our engagement photos.

I went to a wedding one where the couple had a puzzle of a photo of them. It was already put together and the guest signed it with a silver sharpie. It was really cute!
