Hello! We are having our wedding on a farm. The ceremony will be outside right by a pond, cocktail hour will be in the barn and outside the barn area where there will be games like horseshoe and corn hole, and then the reception will be in a tent further down on the property. Although it will have that outdoors/rustic feel, we still want it to be a pretty/elegant wedding. Any ideas of what we should have the "attire" be for our guests? We don't want people showing up in jeans when they hear that it's a farm wedding, but also don't want people showing up in a 3 piece suit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Smiley smile

I attended a wedding that had a similar set up to the wedding you're planning on having. The bride and groom wanted people to dress casual and wrote "casual dress" on their invites. Well, people interpret that differently and I got so many texts from friends asking what I was wearing because no one knew what to wear! It was frustrating and the day of some people wore jeans, others full dresses. Moral of the story: let people dress themselves!!

The only thing I put in the "attire" spot for my wedding website was to "wear your dancing shoes!" We are having a more formal wedding (black and white) with classic/elegant decorations, and while I would love for everyone to dress formally, I don't want to tell adults what to wear. As long as they come to support us and are prepared for a good time, that's all that matters!

I think "clothes" is probably a good bet for telling people what to wear
