Guest attire

Are you putting your preferred attire on your website?

We are having a 5:45 start time (weird I know, but we are having a very short ceremony since we’ll already be legally married) and a 6pm cocktail hour.
Since our wedding is at a brewery’s barrel room, I don’t want people to think jeans are acceptable, but they also don’t need to wear formal wear. Thoughts?

We used The Knot and it had an "attire" part below wedding details so we filled out "Semi-Formal (Cowboy boots encouraged)!" and that's it. But it wasn't on the invites or anything. Our wedding was more formal then semi-formal, and a few people still wore jeans. Which was perfectly fine.

We let our venue and invitations portray the formality of our wedding. We didn't have any issues with people dressing too casually.

We have "semi-formal" listed as our dress code on our wedding website. In the FAQ's I described it as "your Sunday best"
