Growing out Pixie Cut

Caitlyn, on January 5, 2016 at 8:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

So, I'm currently growing out a pixie cut. I have been for over a year, so my hair is getting to be medium length again. I was curious from married ladies or those that have had hair trials, how long does your hair really need to be for fancier updos? I would be totally fine going back to pixie but FH throws a fit when I bring up short hair for the wedding.

Thoughts? I attached my current hair length as well as a pic with me and my pixie cut (RIP) as well as a hairstyle I like that seems like you need long hair.

I don't have an answer for you, but I remember the days of growing out my pixie cut. I felt like I was in the in-between (read: terrible and awkward) stage forever!

I was debating growing mine out (is like a long short cut lol) but it just seems to fit who I am so much more (just like my glass), and I found some super cute styles I could still do, good luck though!

I'm glad! I was so worried, but she made it work! SO much teasing!

You will definitely be able to achieve that up-do with the length of hair you have.

This is me a few years ago. The selfie was the day I got my hair cut and the photo with my "up-do" is me as a bridesmaid 4 weeks later. A good hair dresser should be able to make it work. Your hair doesn't need to be super long for it to work.

You could always consider extensions if you really want a certain hair style.

My hair grows crazy fast (an inch a month. They love to tell me it's impossible so one day I took a tape measure to the salon and took a picture measuring it, and then a month later went back. Just over an inch longer) - so I'm probably not the best resource. My hair is currently about collarbone length and I'm doing something half-up half-down. I don't have a picture but I did a trial of an up-do very similar to the picture you posted and it worked just fine with hair about an inch and a half past my shoulders.

You still have enough time to grow your hair out probably another 6 inches if you take care of it, so I wouldn't worry.

You will probely need extensions for that type of hair style. I also had a pixie cut :]] My fiance morns my long hair lol. It was actualy a turning point in our relationship when I cut It to bob length when it was past my shoulders lol.

Edit: just saw your wedding date if you can keep it a little past your shoulders you should be fine.
