Groomsmen/son (bestman)/ father of bride and father of groom attire

Private User, on May 15, 2015 at 10:58 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hello.

I am trying to figure out what I want the guys in. I am having the hardest time. My wedding is kinda rustic I guess.

I'll start with the pics..

1) FH vest is blue, a little lighter than this one pictured.

Will pair it with a medium wash jean, and white collared button down shirt with sleeves rolled up and brown cowboy boots.

2) Father of Bride vest, charcoal color ( he didn't want to be exactly like the groom).

Will pair it with whatever color jean he chooses (I am hoping for a medium wash jean) and white button down shirt , as well as cowboy boots

3) My bridesmaid dress color- for reference to match

What should I put the groomsmen in? Some of them are pretty big.. like 4x. So I dont' think a vest will work. I was thinking a button down collard shirt. But what color? I am not a fan of just white, especially on heavier set guys. Would a navy blue button down look ok? Or what do you think?

Next question... My son.. he will be the JR best man. I kinda want him to stick out from the rest of the groomsmen, well because I want him to feel special too. Should I dress him like my FH?

The father of the groom.. I told my MIL that he doesn't have to match the groomsmen, he can wear what he wants. Well she wants him in a vest too. I was thinking a tan or brown vest for him.

My dad didn't really want him to match him, well because he is the father of the bride!

Will all these colors of vest look OK together?

Sorry for the zillion questions, I am so indecisive and need help!!

    Thanks!

If the shirts match the groom's vest, it'll make the groom not stand out from everyone, so you may want to stay away from navy shirts. What about ivory shirts for the groomsmen, or a blue that is the same or a shade or two darker than the bridesmaid dresses?

Since brown is a neutral, FIL in a brown vest would most likely look okay. And for your son, matching would be cute. You could also match your dad.

I think light blue shirts for the grooms men would be best. Matching your son with FH would be very cute.

My FOB is wearing the same things as groomsmen but a black bow tie, where groomsmen will be in light blue, regular ties

I am doing a very similar look for the guys in my wedding. I would personally if you don't want them in vests look into a colored shirt to match your bm. I personally would go with a tan vest for the FOG but that is your call. I can tell shades of blue are one of your colors do you have any other?

I really don't have another color lol. The reception area will be decorated with burlap and white linens as well as the blue accents.

I think I am going to have my son match FH since you all think that would be cute also.

I would love for the groomsmen be in a shirt close to the color of the bridesmaids, but these guys are hunters and ride harleys. FH refuses the guys being in any girly colors lol

What about a grey color? a lighter grey?

I think navy shirts would look nice with the groom wearing a white shirt and navy vest.
