I definitely encourage keeping the dressy style so, I vote suit. However, you don’t have to do the full layout. Pants, shirt, suspenders or bow tie will do.

We're getting married in August as well. My FH and the guys are wearing dress pants, a button down dress shirt, bow tie, and either suspenders or a vest.

I put mine in suspenders and a dress shirt since I thought a full suit would be too hot

A full suit might be too hot. You could just go with everything but the jacket. Or I've also seen the men dressed in kakhi pants (like dockers) and dress shirts with the sleeves rolled up partway. Those are cotton, so should be cooler than regular dress pants.
