Groomsmen gifts - Walmart lol

Josie, on August 4, 2018 at 11:14 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13
So I bought these little sets from Walmart today kinda spur of the moment kinda thing cause they were on sale for $11 a piece. I think they were rot over from Father’s Day or something 🤪 my fiancé has a best man and 1 groomsman. I’ve gotten my bridesmaids so many personalized awesome gifts, shirts, robes, pajamas, personalized cups, candles, makeup, bracelets.... you name it lol but every time I ask my fiancé what he wants to get his groomsman he says “nothing they won’t give a crap”

which is is probably true! But the bride in me feels like it’s only right to get them a little something for their bridal party gift (also I love buying gifts lol) and they are both traveling from out of state!!

i am thinking of getting just the watches or all three items engraved with their names. I haven’t shown my fiancé yet cause he obviously doesn’t Care lol.

Do do you think these are ok? Yes or no to engraving? Do they seem too cheap? I personally love the black watches and hope they will wear them for the wedding!!

Here is a photo. It is a black watch, black pocketknife, and black little flash light. One of the men in a cop so I feel like it’s kinda cool? Lol. The other works at Walmart!

This looks awesome! I was thinking something similar but everything online is expensive so this is a great buy!

This is a great idea! I love it and think you should give them a little something especially since they’re traveling for you. I also really like the idea of getting the watch engraved. It makes it more personal Smiley smile

He knows his guys. Ask him. My vote would be to save your money. Maybe get a case of their favorite beer or bottle of choice.

I wouldn't get personalized stuff. Most people don't actually tend to like it, neither my FH or I would keep anything monogrammed or dated because we find that stuff tacky. I would get the groomsmen a bottle of their favorite whiskey or scotch.

I asked my FH what he would like as a groomsman and he said being able to drink from an open bar at the reception because he doesn't need more stuff. 😂

The only item of value is the watch, and that isn't worth more than $7 bucks if the set is eleven. Giving a super cheap item likely to break is worse than no gift at all. Trust that your FH knows his guys when he says they don't want that type stuff. Brides have always given a gift to bm, but I really do not like the trend of lots and lots of little things. And any robe, shirt, or pajamas to wear in getting ready pictures is no gift at all. Nicer to buy 1 or 2 items, different for each bridesmaid, as you would for a birthday. Same gift to all says you really do not see them as individual friends, but only in the role they are performing for you, the bridesmaids. FH does not want that kind of gifts, and it would be rude to get them anyway knowing how he feels.

Awesome find, now I need to ask my FH, lol. My "girls" gifts are already to give and he keeps saying he will handle....makes me nervous, haha
